Our short stay at the hotel was excellent, the hotel is very close to the train station. The room was clean and comfortable. What stood out for us was the service at the Eufemia restaurant. Eleni was so kind, friendly and professional and went the extra mile to look after us. My food allergy was taken into account which is very important. I am sure we will be back. Many thanks!

Minus: I was surprised that this hotel is said to be one of the flagship hotels of the chain. For such a large hotel I thought that the breakfast would be better than those with half as many hotel rooms. When there were a lot of people in the breakfast room, the staff seemed very stressed and it wasn't easy to find a place to sit. The bathroom really needs deep cleaning and some care. The restaurant was also mediocre, price vs food. If you have a room facing the train station there can be a lot of noise. Plus: The location, right by the train station and near the Opera. You can open the window for some fresh air. The bedroom. There's a view.

The Thon Opera is just a few metres from the railway station and very close to the waterfront and the wonderful new opera house. It is also close to shopping street and multiple restaurants. We had booked a superior room and it was on the 8th floor and a good size with bath as well as a shower. Two easy chairs was a real plus. Well equipped with a very neat ironing board/iron. Nice fridge and excellent WiFi. Breakfast was extensive and well cooked. We were here during 17th May celebrations when all restaurants get booked up months in advance, but the hotel booked us into the bar for supper - which was actually very good and sensibly priced. The outdoor bar area fronted onto the road and we were able to “people-watch” locals in their national costumes. Anil served us well in the bar and deserves a special mention. In fact the staff were all helpful. This hotel was the final hotel on a 6 centre Scandinavian holiday - it was the best. Thank you.

We were first time visitors in Oslo and had little idea on where was best to stay. The Thon Opera makes a great base for your trip being next door to both the Oslo S train station (express link to airport) and the fabulous Oslo Opera building. From here you have easy access to the center of Oslo for exploring and eating. Several fun place to enjoy the spring/summer evenings including Salt (opposite Opera) and restaurants on Sorenga. The hotel is also great for experiencing some of the saunas around the Sukkerbiten and Langkaia areas. Hotel rooms are well furnished and include mini bar, safe, free WiFi, ironing board and free WiFi. Breakfast buffets were excellent and the staff really friendly.

Just stayed at the Thon Opera Hotel in Oslo for 3 nights and everything was exceptional. The location is perfect for arrival by plane or train, since the hotel is adjacent to the main train station. You can roll bags right into the hotel with no extra transportation needed. The front desk staff was outstanding-fluent in many languages, friendly and efficient; with special mention of the expert service Joanna provided us on several occasions. Our room was spotlessly clean and housekeeping was friendly and helpful. The hotel offers a voucher to use in their bar/restaurant if you don’t use housekeeping everyday in their effort to support a greener planet and we applaud that. The breakfast buffet is amazing and has something to please everyone. The Thon Opera Hotel is the perfect location for sightseeing in Oslo with transportation, tourist info, museums, restaurants and more within walking distance.
